Loan Coordinator (Pre-Closing)

Summary:

Assists in the processing of loan request files to assure all necessary information and documentation has been provided as required by the approved/declined loan offering, bank policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.  Performs pre-renewal file reviews for early detection of file deficiencies and preparation for renewal documentation and closing.  Performs various duties that support loan functions and provides support to lending staff. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities DO NOT include: Taking loan applications, quoting rates, or discussing loan terms with applicants.
  • Pre-renewal File Reviews and Coordination
    • Assure all collateral addenda and ticklers are accurate and updated
    • Review file for exceptions
    • Assure adequate and current Hazard and Flood insurance is in file
    • Assure holds/assignments are on deposit accounts, brokerage accounts, life insurance, etc.
    • Send letter requesting updated financial information.
    • Inform loan officers of any pending items discovered during file review
    • Mail appraisals/valuations when subject to Reg. B valuation rule
  • New Loan Pre-review/Coordination
    • Assure file has all items needed prior to being moved into documentation que.
      • UCC searches
      • Title searches
      • Proof of adequate insurance coverage
      • Obtain payoffs
      • Verify status with Secretary of State
      • Order flood determinations
      • Set up initial loan file
      • Geocoding/HMDA data collection
      • Mail risk based pricing notice/notice to home loan applicant
      • Prepare and mail Reg. B early appraisal notice
      • Mail appraisals/valuations when subject to Reg. B valuation rule
  • Pull credit reports
  • Adverse action
  • Flood monitoring
  • Other monitoring, maintenance, and research as assigned
  • Assists with supporting the Compliance and BSA programs of the bank
  • Complete required on-line training and other training as assigned
  • Community involvement and leadership
  • Business development
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to organize work flow and implement effective time management.

Computer Skills:

Basic personal computers skills required.
